Housekeeping

It is a good idea to run housekeeping from time-to-time to "clean up" your database.  Housekeeping executes in a background thread, allowing you to carry on with your work.  You must NEVER interrupt housekeeping in anyway before it is completed.

The following tasks are performed during housekeeping:

  • Invalid data items are either removed or fixed.  These can occur if Panacea is interrupted while writing to the database (e.g. power failure).
  • Statement images are purged based on the settings here .  This reduces the size of your database and (therefore) your backups.

It is recommended, therefore, that you run housekeeping at least once per month.
