Your Panacea version: Unknown

Hyperspace Clients

Note: Hyperspace is only available from Panacea version 7.2 onwards.

This window allows you to manage your Hyperspace clients.  Hyperspace clients are Panacea terminals that can connect to your Panacea database using Hyperspace.  Hyperspace clients can connect from your own network (LAN) or they can connect via the internet.

Adding a new Hyperspace Client

When you click Add Panacea will display the New Hyperspace Client window.  Enter a description of the client you want to add.  The description usually includes the name of the terminal or person as well as their location. Setting up a new Hyperspace client also requires an encryption "key" to be delivered to the new terminal.  This can be done in two ways:

Deliver Hyperspace client key automatically

The key will be "parked" on your server.  It can then be retrieved by the new client using a PIN and password.  This is the recommended (and more secure) method of delivering the key.

Click Save when you are ready to continue.

Panacea will now display a window similar to the one on the right.  Do not close this window until you have made a careful note of the PIN and password.

Note that keys delivered automatically expire after 10 minutes.  You need to configure the new Hyperspace terminal within this time.  For details on how to do this click here .

Deliver Hyperspace client key in a file

The key will be saved to a file, for example on a flash drive.  The key can then be delivered to the client physically or, for example, by email.  The key is protected by a password, but please do not send the key together with the password by email as anyone intercepting the email could then set up a Hyperspace client with access to your database.

Make sure that Deliver Hyperspace client key in a file is selected and then click the  to specify where to save the key file.

Use the Browse For Folder window to select a folder into which the key file will saved, then click OK.

Click Save on the New Hyperspace Client window when you are ready to continue.

Panacea will now display a window similar to the one on the right.  Do not close this window until you have made a careful note of the password.

You now need to configure the new Hyperspace client on the terminal.  For details on how to do this click here .

Editing an existing Hyperspace Client

When you click Edit Panacea will allow you to edit the currently highlighted Hyperspace Client.  The only field that can be edited, though, is the Disabled checkbox .  If this is checked then that Hyperspace Client will not be able to log on.

Deleting a Hyperspace Client

When you click Delete Panacea will delete the Hyperspace Client permanently.
