Execute an update from a file

Most database updates are performed by selecting Tools - Updates.  This takes you to Panacea's updates website, which provides quick and easy ways to update your database.  This is used primarily to implement billing policies but can be used for many other purposes.  Click here  for more information.

It may be necessary, however, for Datamax to provide you with a customized update which we do not wish to make generally available on the updates website.  We might email a file to you and ask that you execute it.  These files have a .psql or .puf extension.

Executing an update from a file involves the following steps:

  • Click System - Execute an update from a file.
  • An Open file dialog will be displayed allowing you to select the update file.  Click Open once you have selected the file.
  • Panacea will confirm that you want to execute the update.  Click Yes if you wish to continue.
  • A progress bar will be displayed while the update is executed.
  • Once the update has executed Panacea will confirm that it was executed successfully.  Click OK.
